Mother's Day is right around the corner for even the DIY-ers. If you are on the market for some easy DIY gifts to create for your mom or mom-figure, read on!
SOMETHING NOSTALGIC – A DIY PHOTO ALBUM. 🌸
Moms and grandmoms and aunts and mom-likes love pictures. Pictures of their babies, them with their babies, or their babies with other babies belong in every mom's house, so a simple homemade photo album rings true for your feminine love.
1 – Print your favorite photos off at your local Walgreens through the Walgreens app or website.
2 – Grab a mini photo album at Hobby Lobby or a thrift store--or, comb through your scrap paper and old cardboard to make your own simple bi-fold scrapbook.
3 – Compile used stamps, stickers, gel pens, markers, washi tape, and newspaper clippings to serve as garnish for your photos.
4 — Combine your elements to make a mini scrapbook— and don’t forget to sign your name on the back!
5 — Wrap or stuff in a gift bag and present!
SOMETHING FUNCTIONAL — FRIDGE MAGNETS 🌸
What mom doesn’t keep grocery lists on her fridge? Or what grandmas don’t save their grandkids’ drawings? Fridge magnets keep both organized and available!
1 — Buy magnets. Amazon carries packs of many, but small local stores carry magnets too.
2 — Choose your magnet theme, and cut your themed paper or printed picture to fit the magnet size. I recommend individual grandkid, pet, or favorite animal faces.
3 — Decorate the paper with sequins, glitter glue, or marker. Then glue your paper onto the magnet and generously smear Modge Podge (or school glue) onto the paper surface.
4 — Stack them in a small cardboard box (used jewelry packaging are perfect for this) and top with a bow.
SOMETHING SWEET — CHOCOLATE GOODNESS🌸
Girls love chocolate. So let’s give them just that!
1 — Pick and acquire a chocolate: dark, milk, or white.
2 — Pick and acquire a carrier: pretzels, nuts, fresh berries, or freeze-dried berries.
3 — Spread carrier on a layer of parchment paper and drizzle with melted chocolate. You can go heavy or light, depending on your girl’s sweet tooth! Freeze or set until hardened; carefully layer into a jar or glass container and top lid with a bow.
These 3 are easy, affordable, and so personalized! Make with love—and happy gifting!
