DO’s and Don’ts in MARRIAGE after kids

I used to get so mad and have so much resentment thinking that date night had to look like getting ready, getting out of the house, and spending a significant amount of money at restaurants and out of the home activities. I love that every once in a while but it wasn’t practical do two parents with no village and we don’t like being away from the kids.

So date night looks like putting the kids to bed, ordering take out, putting a movie on, reading a book together, or just chatting about life.

This was definitely something that took us a long time to realize in our marriage. For the first 3 years of being parents we NEVER had a date night but once 😭

The greatest love I can show my children is putting my spouse first and working towards showing them a healthy marriage. This doesn’t mean I love them any less but in my opinion I love them more for it. Because at the end of the day when two parents split apart… the children do suffer.
