( a message to the Christian mama)

With social media influencers in the Christian community, it’s easy to fall into the game of comparison. You see these perfect women all dolled up, in beautiful linen dresses, everything from scratch, you know… the stereotypical traditional wife, we all know and love. I’ll be the first to say that I think the proverbs 31 is something so beautiful. But like anything it can be taken to extremes.

You see women pursuing the proverbs 31 women. All of that is fine and great. But maybe you don’t feel that that is your calling or you do feel like it is your calling, but you don’t quite look like these women, or dress, like these women, or struggle to be submissive like these women, or you, struggling with laziness, maybe you weren’t taught how to take care of a home, You beat yourself up so much pursuing the perfect image of the proverbs 31 woman and feel like you’re never enough.

You are!

Everyone is going to share their personal preferences, what works for them, what motivates them, what standards they want to lift their life too, and I support it 100% .

But for the mama that feels like she just can’t catch up, remember to see guidance from God before you see guidance from social media influencers. They may share great tips, tricks, and serve as goals and inspiration but don’t get so caught up cleaning the home that you forget to serve Jesus.

I fell quickly into the trap of feeling like I was never enough. Comparing my journey with Christian women who have known Christ for years and years and years. Women who have practiced and perfected their skills in homemaking, motherhood, and all that pertains to the proverbs 31 woman. It’s a journey, and it takes time.
