Married at 19 and young parents

Our experience

My husband and I got married at 19 while we both served in the marine corps.

I always say that if it wasn’t him I would’ve never married that young. If you know anything about the military… marriages don’t typically last.

But I thank God for the faithful man he gave me.

It wasn’t soon after that we were trying for

Kids and finally got pregnant.

We were 20 when we got pregnant. We had already had our first apartment then upgraded to our first home.

Mason was in school and I was getting out of the military.

Pregnancy symptoms hit me hard!

It wasn’t soon after that we realized

1. We were married very young and didn’t have many couples to relate to.

2. We were very mature for our age and couldn’t relate to others in the same age group

3. We were now young parents with different interests than before.

It took so long to find where we fit in. I prayed hard for the friendships I have now. But the reality of it was that I had to learn to be content with my own company.
