I have been struggling with alcohol and drvg use for years now. I started when my mental health was at its worst and use substances as a way to cope and distract myself.

That changes today.

I’m sick of relying on unhealthy coping mechanisms. I want to finish college and I can’t do that if I’m not sober. I want to be the best version of myself. My treatment team has been recommending that I get sober and it’s time for me to listen.

Have you gotten sober? What advice do you have?
