Cheapest ESIM for my day trip to JB 🔥

Sooo I finally could use an esim after changing to my new iPhone 🙃 Got to know about esims from Shopee during a previous trip, but I couldn’t use it with my previous phone…

⚠️ Do check that your phone supports esim before buying!

Prior to trying the esim, I would do either:

1️⃣ Get a sim card from the county I was travelling to. But this was slightly “wasteful” as I would only be staying max a few days

2️⃣ Get data roaming from Singtel, but I had really bad experiences whereby the data usage skyrocketed for no reason within a very short period of time. 🙄 And I could not contact customer service about it because I was on a mobile share plan and not the account owner 🙄🙄🙄 Plus, the cheapest plan is already $5/GB?!

After comparing a few stores on Shopee, this store >> roamwifi had the cheapest esims(+ it was on flash sale, but it seems to always be lol)! I also compared this Asia 8 esim to the Malaysia esim, and this was slightly cheaper 😀 I ended up getting the 1 Day 2GB (5G) option as I was only taking a day trip to JB. It’s SO convenient because you can get it 24hrs and instantly!!

Instructions on the installation process was very straight forward:

1. Place order

2. Go to website and key in Shopee order ID

3. Get PDF with QR code and instructions

If I’m not wrong, the plan starts the moment you install it, so just to be safe, just do it right before you leave SG :)

I was slightly skeptical that it would work, but bruh, it was better than just functional. It was fast 5G network 😩🔥 at no point did it fail me. I was there from about 1130am-8pm, and I used 1.2GB.

There’s no doubt that I will purchase this again the next time I travel overseas. 🙌🏻 Crazy good deal!
