Today’s entry is all about my museum date with friends!

🏛️ The Architecture

I was particularly looking forward to visiting this museum because of its spectacular architecture. French architect Jean Nouvel took inspiration by a flower-like aggregate of mineral crystals known as a desert rose. The building is 350 meters long, with a series of large intersecting disks. Best part is, you can also see the design being integrated into the interior as well which creates a unique experience for viewing the art!

🖼️ The Galleries

The museum is organised in three chapters: ‘Beginnings’, ‘Life in Qatar’, and ‘The Modern History of Qatar’. The museum galleries also features interactive learning spaces that prompt visitors to engage with the gallery content, making it so much fun!

✨ Temporary Installation

During our visit, a multisensory light installation from Swiss artist Pipilotti Rist was also open to the public! We got to walk among 12,000 LED lights strung on cables, which represents neurons constantly communicating with each other. Only downside is each batch only gets 2 minutes walking through it so be sure to get your phones ready if you want to take pics!

Child (Age 16 and under) - Free

There was also a gift shop and restaurant available within the museum so do check it out if you ever pay a visit!
