Lemon8 Burnout? | My thoughts after 1 Month on 🍋8

I wanted to give it some time before making a post about the app, so with my 1 Month Lemon8versary having been last week I thought what better time? So here goes:

• It takes a LONG time for posts to upload compared to other apps. Not sure why, but someone said it’s cause posts are manually reviewed? Idk, but I did notice that the more I posted, the faster my posts seemed to upload.

• To that last point, I took a little while off from posting and realized that my posts went back to loading as slow as they did in the beginning. My views, that had finally started going up, also went down significantly when I did start reposting.

• I’m starting to see more variety on my fyp but I do get a lot of repeat posts still. I’m also getting a lot of posts that don’t seem tailored to me or my interests at all. Does anyone know the total user count on this app? I’m still working on trying to find my community on here, so I’m excited to see how this will change.

• Overall, the feeling of the app imo is still pretty personable. Like there’s thousands of ppl and yeah it’s social media, but it still has that relatable vibe…for the most part with the majority of profiles I see.

• The burnout has been…REAL. I still like browsing here from time to time and definitely prefer posting here over anywhere else. But if I’m being honest, I still tend to browse IG more than I do Lemon8. I’m not sure if it’s out of habit, cause there’s more to see on IG, or cause I’ve actually prioritized posting “content” here vs there, idk.

• I think Lemon8 is still missing it’s “main squeeze.” You know how Instagram was the photo app, TikTok was short videos, Twitter the short text thoughts, Snapchat has the 24hr videos, and FaceBook is the OG - kinda a hot mess but you’re not leaving. That. Idk if I’d say Lemon8 has solidified that just yet, and if they have, it isn’t as apparent as it is with the others imo.

• There’s a color picker now so you can customize your font colors 🤗
