an underrated cafe in jb you have to visit 🍵

i’m sure we’re all tired of seeing the same overhyped cafes all the time so, i was on the hunt for more underrated cafes in jb and stumbled upon The Portal Cafe!

once you enter, you’ll be greeted with a variety of flowers with mirrors which makes it the perfect spot for your mirror selfies!

we ordered:

— truffle mushroom soup (24rm, $7.28)

we rode under the rain for an hour and were completely drenched from head to toe so we just wanted something warm to soothe our tummies but to our surprise, the soup was actually really good and we devoured it soo quickly

— hot yuri matcha latte (16rm, $4.85) 🍵

— hot chocolate (14rm, $4.25) ☕️

we didn’t enjoy the drinks that much as it was quite powdery and wayyy too foamy for our liking.. but the latte art was cute tho 🤓

— smoked duck aglio olio (30rm, $9.09)

it was my first time eating smoke duck in cubes instead of slices and it actually tasted way better since it was thicker as compared to those that were thinly sliced

however, i personally got sicked of the noodle halfway through so i didn’t manage to finish it

— curry karaage rice (30rm, $9.09)

my boyfriend ordered this dish and it was not too bad as well! we also ordered eggs thinking our dishes doesn’t come with egg but to our surprise, my boyfriend’s rice came with scrambled egg while mine came with a runny egg!

the scrambled egg was actually soo good and runny which i loved!

— scrambled egg (3rm, $0.91 each)

— sunny side up (3rm, $0.91 each) 🍳

after service charge, our total bill came up to $40.03 which is really cheap for a starter, 2 mains as well as 2 drinks!
