coquette themed 21st birthday under $400 🎀

i recently celebrated my 21st birthday with my boyfriend and a few of my close friends, so here’s how we managed to host a mini celebration under $400!

to start things off, i saved a lot of $$ on the location as my boyfriend decided to host it at his house instead of booking a chalet/hotel as he figured it wasn’t worth paying so much $$ for a 2d1n stay as most of us were only free in the evening after work..

imagine paying $500 and above only to check in after 7-8pm & having to check out the next day around 12pm.. so we decided to save that money instead!

* alcohol, $175.50

— we had friends travelling during that period of time and we asked if they could help us get a few bottles from the duty free shop as it was a lot cheaper! 1 litre of absolute vodka was only $35.10 which was extremely worth because we normally get the 700ml bottle for around $60

* food, $70

— my boyfriend ordered 2 extra large & 2 large pizzas while his mum also prepared some snacks & fruits for us!

* cake, $50.15

— we initially ordered a fake cake online to use as a prop because i wasn’t sure if i wanted to get an actual cake yet since most of my friends weren’t a fan of cake & i didn’t want it to go to waste (i attended a friend’s birthday party previously & she spent over $100 on a 2 tier cake only for it to be left untouched throughout the party..)

although i ended up getting an actual cake, the cake prop we bought did not go to waste as it was used as a decoration/prop at the start before we bought the actual one out!

* decorations, $55.85

— apart from the additional decorations my boyfriend purchased, he also used some items he already had such as the fairy lights as well as candles & rose petals he used for when he asked me to be his girlfriend!

total damage: $351.50

thanks to my boyfriend, i had an extremely blessed 21st! (he started setting everything up himself 2 days prior to the celebration 🥹)
