What I asked for to get the flowy hair of my dreams! Since leaving the salon, I've been constantly stopped and asked what I asked for to get this haircut and how others can achieve it.

I intentionally asked for a lot of layers - genuinely as many as possible - to make my hair much lighter and add some much needed volume. Specifying that you want feathery layers that are long allows them to be distinctly seperate without sacrificing length. This is a subtle bayalage, and I asked for an even mix of reddish and purplish tones to achieve this cherry cola color. Since I often wear my hair up, I specifically requested face framing pieces that provide the illusion of bangs without any of the commitment. Adding in some long "side bangs" rather than curtain bangs lets it blend into your hair more easily and allows you to choose when you want them to shine!

I also specifically ask for a u shape rather than a V shape in the back to allow it to grow out more evenly, and provide the illusion of more volume across my entire head rather than only in a targeted section. This also makes it easier to place your hair up in a ponytail or to braid it without any rogue pieces sticking out.
