I was guided by my KKH surgeon the surgical options available for removing fibroids , depending on the size, number, and location of the fibroids.

✨Abdominal Myomectomy

✨Hysterectomy

✨Laparoscopic Surgery

and perhaps many more, please seek advise from healthcare professionals ~

And as expected, the only choice I have, is open myomectomy - operation to remove fibroids without removing the uterus (womb) 😟 because of the size of the fibroids

He also advised us to prevent pregnancy for a year after the surgery

After discussion with my husband, I proceed with the surgery last December ‘23 because we were told that the downtime is around a month, and I required to stay in hospital for 3 days 2 nights for observation.

🏥Pre-operative assessment (2 weeks before the operation)

-KKH / Singhealth sent me a SMS which required me to complete the questionnaire 1 or 2 days before heading down to do some bloodtests and screening. The questionnaires mainly about any medical history, medical condition and drug allergies that I need to inform the nurses

-Went to KKH in the morning to do some blood test and verification about the questionnaire I completed previously

-Blood test included :

⚡️APTT and PT

⚡️Renal panel with Glucose

⚡️Full Blood count

⚡️Blood type and screening

So far my results were in a normal range.

And I also proceed to get some pre-op medications from the pharmacy as well *Picture 3
