PART 1 | Are TT famous cafes in JB overrated? 👀

Hello Lemon8 fam!! 🍋

Been to various TT famous cafes right across the causeway and would like to share my experience - is it worth the hype or not? 😮‍💨

1. Dona Bakehouse 👩🏻‍🍳🥐

This cafe has been trending on social media recently - it’s a new artisan cafe and bakery right in the JB city centre (right beside Hiap Joo Bakery) ✨ The store front can’t be missed as you’ll see crowds around the entrance, peering in at the pastries on display 🥯

I tried their Pistachio Croll and felt that it was too sweet and the pistachio taste was not strong enough. Also the price was pretty steep (15RM per croll), it was about SG prices so I would rather get my Croll from La Levain or Keong Saik Bakery in SG instead 🥲

The iced latte was good tho and I would come back to try their mains another time 👌🏻

2. Roast & Coffee ☕️

Old school traditional coffee shop right opp Dona Bakehouse with an extensive menu ✨ I really enjoyed this place! I loved their traditional breads like the peanut butter toast (the bread was toasted to crispy perfection 😮‍💨) and the French toast was soo good I felt like I was in a Hong Kong Cha Chan Ting 🤤

3. Space Cafe 🌿

This cafe is right across the road from KSL, very convenient for a drop by if you’re having a massage at KSL. I love the iced latte here! Would always stop by to grab a drink if I’m nearby 🤭 However their specialty drinks were a little too sweet for me 🤥 Also they do not serve mains here, just a small selection of pastries, so this cafe would be more suitable for a post lunch tea break / catchup ✨
