Our Epic Time in Switzerland 🇨🇭💸

Hello!! Omg it’s already November 🥴 Time to clear our leaves and travel 😆

Previously, I’ve posted about our 1-month Honeymoon in Europe . I’ve since received DMs requesting for breakdown of the itinerary and how we maximised our time in all the countries that we visited. Even though we landed in Italy first, I’ll start with our itinerary for Switzerland 🙌🏻✨ This was the leg of the entire journey I was most excited about haha 🫢

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟭: 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 𝗧𝘂𝗲𝘀

- 🚂 4.15pm: Arrived at Zermatt from Venice via Milan

- Bought groceries to cook at the big supermarket

- Took a free mini bus shuttle to our Airbnb 🚌

- It’s a cute little place. Reckon it’ll look very cosy during Christmas and winter season.

- We settled in and called it a night (we’ve come a long way from Venice) 🥱😴

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮: 𝟭𝟭𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 𝗪𝗲𝗱

- Rise and shine!!! We cooked breakfast the next morning 🫶🏼

- Explored Zermatt - it’s a little picturesque town in the valley

- We had macs for lunch 🤣 Expensive y’all … but we wanted to give it a try

- We also went on a hike! Absolutely gorgeous scenery. It was so peaceful. 😍

- We cooked dinner that evening. Made pasta with chicken breast ✨

- Quite a chill start to the Switzerland leg after our rather hectic time in Italy.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟯: 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 𝗧𝗵𝘂𝗿𝘀

- 🚂 11.37am - 1.52pm: Train from Zermatt to Interlaken West

- Upon our arrival, we went to eat at a kebab place right at the station. Quite tasty indeed. 😋

- You’ll come to realise that Europe food is really just atas restaurants and then you have kebab joints HAHAHA. Was starting to miss our hawker food by then 😅 Preggy cravings maybe?

- We then took a funicular ride up to Harder Kulm to get a birds’ eye view of Interlaken

- Had a little snack and drinks at the restaurant up there

- Then we went to the famous dock where they shot Crash Landing on You 😂 We took bus 103.

- There were a tonne of people also! It was quite funny because out of nowhere you see a bunch of tourists arriving at a residential area on the outskirts of Interlaken.

- Took some romantic shots before going back to the hotel. The sun was still up at 8pm 🫢

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟰: 𝟭𝟯𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 𝗙𝗿𝗶

- Today’s the day we head up to Jungfraujoch - Top of Europe

- It’s also the day I had a 20CHF thai green curry for lunch 🙃🙃🙃💸💸💸 Just give the pregnant woman whatever she wants 🤷🏻‍♀️

- The journey up there took almost 2 hours. That makes the entire to and fro, 4 hours long.

- We took the train from Interlaken Ost to Grindelwald Terminal before taking the epic Eiger Express cable car from Eigergletscher station.

- It’s a newly opened cable car system. We had the whole big cable car to ourselves 😂 Felt like we did a private booking haha.

- Then we transferred to a train which took us to Jungfraujoch via the insides of the mountain (lol sorry, bad description… but you get it 🥴)

- Some people underestimated the coldness up there. They were shivering when we reached the top hahaha. 👀👀 We were literally in our winter wears.

- Even though it was my second time at Jungfrau, I really enjoyed my time up there with Ash.

- We saw the beautiful glacier, walked on snow, went through the snow palace and bought Lindt chocolates. The lack of crowd made it magical.

💡: I booked the Top of Europe tickets that morning because there were occasions where the weather is so bad that you can’t see a single thing up there. They have live web cams for you to check before buying tics!

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟱: 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝗮𝘁

- This was the highlight of the Switzerland trip for me! (Or the entire honeymoon for that matter 🫢)

- We took a train from Interlaken to Grindelwald First station.

- Then went on a series of longgggg cable car rides up the side of the mountain. Wow, the views were spectacular. You could see cows roaming on the green pastures and towering snow cap mountains in the background.

- We did many things up there: Bachalpsee Lake hike (we gave up halfway cus it was so far away), mountain cart (epic!!!) and the First Cliff Walk.

- Would’ve went on the First glider if I weren’t pregnant 😆

- Was so sad when we had to make our descend down back to Interlaken …

- Anyway, we had Hooters for dinner 😂😏 Yo the wings were yummy ok.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟲: 𝟭𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 𝗦𝘂𝗻

- 🚂 11.05am - 1.01pm: Train from Interlaken West to Basel

- We had to make a pit stop in Basel to break up the travel journey. My butt would’ve cracked if we went straight to Paris from Interlaken.

- However, I would recommend stopping at Bern instead, if you’ve haven’t been there before. I think it’s nicer than Basel. More old town vibes.

- Anyway, the most interesting thing that we did was to go to a point where 3 countries - France, Germany and Switzerland meet! Quite epic because you can actually see the different architecture from where we stood 😂

- To go there, we had to take multiple buses and walk under the hot sun, through the shipyard-harbour area LOL. Not a joking matter for a pregnant woman (my stamina legit fell as the days went along hahahah). Ok but we made it.

𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟳: 𝟭𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝘆, 𝗠𝗼𝗻

- Went out to hunt for breakfast 🍳

- 🚂 Took the 12.34pm train out from Basel to Paris Gare De Lyon
