Hello everyone! I’ve been wanting to do this comparison series •✨ This or That ✨• for quite some time. Having lived at my mum’s (relatively new) place for the past 2.5 years, I believe I’m able to give a realistic personal review on the different electrical appliances vs the ones that we have in our own home. 🤓

This post features the comparison between Haiku L-series fans and the Po Eco Cyclone series fans.

Haiku fans being ‘designer fans’ are commonly used in the niche market - landed homes and larger homes in general. However, in recent years, I believe they are trying to cater to mass market with the inclusion of their new 52” fan H-series. My mum’s house has two L-series fans. This range is specifically catered for i.e. HDB and condos which have smaller rooms. I just recalled that I was the one who recommended this brand to my mum back then when she was doing up her place. (Oops sorry mum 💸😅)

Anyway here’s the comparison:

L-series Haiku Fans

✔️ Look (blades and light capping): Sleek, slim and quite seamless

✔️ Lights: Wide range of settings but you have to choose either warm or white when you’re selecting the fan

✔️ Wind: You have to really consider the space and size of the room because the fan in my bro’s room works well on slow speed but I can’t say the same for the one in mum’s living room.

✖️💰Price: On the high side ($750-$995)

✖️Look (support): Does not look very aesthetic

✖️Stability: The fan in my mum’s living room wobbles when the external wind comes in. Well, her house is on level 36. But still, that’s a safety concern.

✖️ Wind: The fan in the living room isn’t as powerful perhaps due to the placement. We always have to turn the speed to high then we can feel the wind.

✖️Only comes in black or white unless u select from another newer series which has light wood.

✖️Additional $ if you want to add on Smart Wi-fi

Po Eco Cyclone Fans

✔️💰Price: Very affordable ($349-$429)

✔️ Overall Look: Sleek. We love the wobble-free cylindrical support

✔️ Built in Smart Wi-fi which allows us to connect to our home smart system

✔️ Can change blade direction. This was a life saver because after we did that for our master bedroom, the wind became very strong even though it was on low speed.

✔️ Stability: Super stable due to the wobble-free support.

✖️Lights: Comes in tri colour but you cannot adjust the intensity

Overall, in terms of value for money wise, I would still go for the Po Eco Cyclone fans. What really won us over was the overall sleek looking profile of the support and blades. But of course if budget wasn’t an issue, I will also consider getting the wobble-free Haiku H-series version in the dark chestnut timber colour.
