my proposal story!

Actl I’ve been bugging bf to propose for quite a long time alr haha. I mean we’ve BTO-ed, even set an ROM date for sept/oct, but I wanted him to like pop the question and make it official HAHAHA. context is that we met at this Tiong Bahru bakery outlet at Jubilee Park where we were both working.

sooo apparently the scene was set like 3 months in advance. My group of gal pals set a date to meet in Clarke quay in April. One of my friends specifically asked to go to this FairPrice Finest in Clarke Quay. One where you can pick the food and they cook for u. So I was like ok. I thought “so weird, who picks a location for lunch THREE MONTHS in advance, but ok la, she must really want to go.”

So we went and had a spanking delicious meal. After that even tho we ordered A TON of food, my friend was like, “I’m still hungry, and I rly want a kouign amann. Let’s go to the Tiong Bahru Bakery opposite at Fort Canning Park”. I still didn’t suspect ANYTHING, and was still happily telling stories to them about how this is the place Simon and I first met, and how it’s so nostalgic to us.

Then two of my friends went to the bathroom and the other one said she wanted to take pictures. I was like “weird this girl usually doesn’t care about her outfits. But it’s ok I take for her.” then she said she wanted to take at the bench where Simon and I used to chill a lot after work. I still didn’t suspect anything and had no clue.

THEN HE WALKED OUT OF THE BUSHES CARRYING FLOWERS AND A RING AND I WAS LIKE 🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨🫨 WHAT ARE U DOING HERE??? my jaw was on the ground for a solid ten seconds and I was like wha wha whattttt???? I was so totally stunned.

Then he knelt on the ground and popped the question and I said yes in front of my flens. It was the biggest surprise of my life and I had NO CLUE anything was happening. My friends tried to encourage me to dress better under the guise of ‘taking photos’ but I turned up in a penguin shirt and jeans 🤦🏻‍♀️ Typical Sherms HAHAHAHAH.

It’s a beautiful ring 💍, a heirloom from his mom 🥹🥹🥹 I love it so much! It was the most perfect proposal; intimate, considerate and sentimental in every way a girl could want. He got me crotchet roses bc I don’t like dying flowers. Apparently he even met up with my friends a month in advance to recce and they had been texting him updates all throughout the lunch. I SUSPECTED NOTHING. OMG.

and that’s how my bf officially became my fiance! I love u babe and excited for our future together 🥰
