Engaged to my best friend at 25

Hello guys! 👋🏻 Today I’ll be sharing about something a little more personal: my proposal story.

We got engaged in November 2022 after having dated for about 3 years. I have always envisioned my dream proposal to be outdoor, somewhere with greenery or ocean view and a beautiful sunset. And I’m so happy that my proposal was a beautiful and meaningful one.

The backstory |

The whole backstory was my fiancé planned for a “picnic” proposal 6 months before the actual day. One day, he casually brought up the idea of “monthly picnic date” and the gullible me didn’t suspect anything. I was so excited for monthly picnics and even initiated to wear matchy colours for the dates. This went on for close to 4 months.

How the proposal went |

Months before, he had sourced for inspiration on pinterest and printed out photos of us without me knowing. My only request for the proposal was that I wanted a stuff toy elephant instead of flowers but this man delivered BOTH!🐘💐 Aww. (Knowing that he isn’t really a romantic guy, this thought was a sweet surprise) Thankfully, his family was there to help set up while he tried to stall for time. I thought we were going for our usual monthly picnic date but turns out it was a proposal!!!

Things to take note:

If i’m not wrong, you have to apply for a license to set up your photo display and all for proposal. We didn’t do that and we got asked to pack up and leave many times. Luckily, after much negotiation, I made it to the place successfully.

A pity I couldn’t appreciate the photos and set up at my own pace as we had limited time. (They were rushing us to tear down the photo display) 🥺 Lucky us, we were blessed with a beautiful sunset. 🌅 We made full use of the scenery and took many photos.

Fast forward 5 months later, we are happily engaged and ready to move on to married life. I feel that being engaged makes things more certain and real. #adulting We can now look forward to the bigger milestones in life.
