Questions to prep for a successful raise at work 💰

No one prepared me for the amount of self-assurance I needed when I became an adult. This is personally one of my biggest #Adultingwoes . If you’re currently part of the “rat race” it’s always a struggle not to go into autopilot mode. If you’ve been in a position for quite a while now and realise that your job scope & responsibilities have expanded without any recognition, it’s time for a raise.

😣 Why is it so awkward to ask for a raise?

Here’s how you can be confident for the convo with your supervisor:

1️⃣ Track your own progress, and be aware of your achievements. This helps you to explicitly communicate your KPIs during the past months.

2️⃣ Identify the invaluable skill you can provide for the company that no one else has. Ask yourself. “What task do you consistently do well at?”

3️⃣ Diversify your KPIs, and make sure you have both LOW-HANGING and long-term KPIs.

I won’t normalise the rarity of having great bosses that can advocate for you, but realistically you might not have them. It’s important and essential to learn to advocate for yourself and know your worth!!
