I’m the type of person who worries a lot, so when I got pregnant, I was very worried that the skincare products might affect my baby. Thankfully, I found this website (https://www.15minutebeauty.com/pregnancy-friendly-skincare-products.html) that lists so many different skincare brands and breaks them down into pregnancy- and nursing-safe products. I literally checked every single product I was using/planning on purchasing to make sure that it was pregnancy-safe as quoted by the author (who’s a Pediatric Critical Care doctor). What I really appreciated was her responding to every single question in the comment boxes and explaining why a product wasn’t pregnancy/nursing safe.
My skincare routine was pretty simple:
☀️ Morning Routine: Cleanser ➡️ Toner ➡️ Eye cream ➡️ Serum ➡️ Moisturizer ➡️ Sunscreen
🌙 Night Routine: Cleanser ➡️ Toner ➡️ Eye cream ➡️ Essence ➡️ Moisturizer
The following is a list of skincare products I used during my pregnancy.
⚠️ I highly recommend consulting with your gynaecologist before incorporating any new skincare products into your routine during pregnancy (I’m not a healthcare professional).
1️⃣Cleanser
Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Cleanser
2️⃣ Toner
Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner
3️⃣ Eye Cream
Day time: Clarins Extra-Firming Yeux Eye Expert
Night time: Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Supercharged Gel-Creme
4️⃣ Serum/ Essence
Day Time Serum: Olay Luminous Vitamin C Serum
Night Time Essence: Missha First Treatment Essence Rx
5️⃣ Moisturizer
Day time: It’s Skin Hyaluronic Acid Moisture Cream
Night time: Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream
6️⃣ Sunscreen
Innisfree Tone Up No Sebum Sunscreen SPF50+
The reason I used essence instead of serum at night was because I found the Cerave night cream quite heavy, so I wanted something lighter to go with it.
If pregnancy has you too tired right now, just remember the three key skincare ingredients to avoid during pregnancy are:
1. Retinoids
2. Salicylic acid (although I read somewhere that topical salicylic is actually ok, ask your doctor)
3. Chemical Sunscreen
