Rating Countries I’ve Traveled to: Spain

Here is my official ranking of Spain based off of my travels there:

✨ Things to do: 10/10

Spain was a very fun country to visit! There are so many different things to do and each city is filled with different characteristics and activities to do and explore. I loved visiting museums and walking throughout the cities. There were many festivals we stumbled upon and were unexpected surprises. There are also cultural events that happen throughout the year to look up and see if any coincide with your travels

✨Food: 9/10

Honestly I was shocked at how underrated Spanish cuisine is! Besides the classics like paella, churros, etc., everything was so delicious and flavorful. Make sure to not get pulled into the many touristy restaurants that are waaaay overpriced. One of the best meals my boyfriend and I ate was 4 tapas, 2 orders of paella, and 1 bottle of wine and it was under $50USD! Eating in Spain is very affordable and the food is great

✨Transportation: 8/10

The transportation in Barcelona was top notch. The subway system was nice and easy to navigate and was so convenient going through the city. Sevilla was a little less convenient and the the subway system a little more difficult to find. It was a walkable city though and lots of taxis

✨Language Barrier: 8/10

Spain’s language barrier wasn’t bad at all. I have a very basic Spanish vocabulary but I was able to manage talking to servers and ask simple questions. Many popular cities have plenty of English speakers and signs in English. In the smaller, less touristy cities though, make sure you have Google translate as not as many people will speak English or be able to translate for you

✨Safety: 9/10

I felt safe the whole time in Spain and I think it would be a great solo travel destination. The only issue that I saw was a lot of scams being ran in popular tourist locations in Barcelona, like Las Ramblas. I’d be careful with any bags and just don’t get pulled into the people trying to ask questions or get you to buy something as you’ll end up being an easy target for people to get money from

✨Overall rating: 9/10

Spain surprised me with how much I loved it and want to go back. It is a versatile country with lots of fun places to see and activities to do. The food was incredible and people all kind. It is an easy country to get around in too. I hope this rating will help you in your future Spain travel plans :)
