hotel in Myeongdong for just $30/night??

I’ve stayed in 3 different hotels in Seoul and this is my favourite hotel so far!

The Stay Classic Hotel Myeongdong is located very conveniently near Myeongdong, Cityhall & Seoul station. all within walking distance!

as I stayed with my family, we got a royal twin room which includes 2 single beds and 1 double bed. I don’t have a proper photo but there’s actually a counter table and sufficient space for me to comfortably open my LARGE luggage (first hotel that I managed to open my luggage with remaining walking space). my family opened their luggage in the closet so there was a lot of space.

inside the room, there’s also a washing machine and LG styler (can fit 3-6 pieces of clothes each time). the toilet includes the shower and my family used the balcony to hang clothes. forgot to take a pic but there’s also a big fridge with freezer! the basement also has a weighing scale (for luggages), small gym and dryer (need to pay).

here’s why I recommend the place:

✅ helpful staff. very fast and helpful with problems even late at night. attentive to our requests too!

✅ very convenient to wash clothes. if u are on a longer trip, u can comfortably do laundry in the room.

✅ good location. we went on a few tours with early pickup time and the location made it easy for us to walk to the pickup place.

✅ lots of shopping nearby (Lotte department store, Lotte young plaza, myeongdong shopping street)

✅ convenience store & a 24 hours pork bone soup store right beside.

✅ value for money. my family of 4 booked this for 7 nights for just $848.96 which works out to ~$30/pax/night!

however:

❌ small toilet. I didn’t really mind but my family did make a few complains about this 🥲 do also bear in mind that 4 people with only 1 toilet means more waiting time.

all in all, I highly recommend this hotel if u are intending to stay in myeongdong! I think it’s very value for money and worth even if you are not on a budget. we booked the hotel from agoda and will even get cashback after the stay 🤭
