How do we feel about parent YES DAYS?

I feel like people tell me I’m letting my kids be the boss when I say yes to things

But why would I say no?

I’m just busy. Nursing school, working in the hospital, in the military… I want to let my kids know I love them at every possible turn. So, why say no for no reason?

Want to go to the zoo? Yes!

Want to go get donuts & chocolate milk in the morning? Yes!

Want to paint outside? Yes!

What I think is that parents default to “no” because it is easier for them or more in line with what THEY want to do. But I didn’t have kids to make their life conform to mine for convenience. I had kids to alter my life to serve them. I’m a parent to them. I WANTED them. I want to make them as happy as I truly possibly can.

So, maybe I don’t have full yes days. But I say yes whenever I can. What do you think?? I think people underestimate the power of “yes” and how much more impactful it can make “no”

Please stop making no your default bc it’s easier for you. Make your child’s childhood magical 💕
