Here's some tried-and-tested places to check out in tw that you will be more than happy to part ways w your 💸:

1️⃣ YONGKANG STREET

It was already buzzing on a Thursday afternoon with both locals and tourists, so you know you're at da place to be ~ Have fun meandering among the small streets and check out one of the many restaurants in the same area when you get hungry 😋 (like a warm and comforting bowl of beef noodles?)

What to get ✅

Cute stationery, souvenirs and keepsakes, gifts for friends !!!!

厚里 HOLI / LAI HAO / Bao maison / JUMENG - so much cute stuff !!!!

A Yuan Soap YongKang Store - love the soaps and toiletries here, all-natural ingredients and great for gifting! It's available in sg but at almost twice the price and fewer products, so I regret not purchasing more 🥲

2️⃣ CHIFENG STREET

This was a cool neighbourhood to walk around to check out the different types of clothes stores, restaurants, and cafes and bars 🌀

What to get ✅

Clothes, shoes, accessories, kpop merch, thrifts, and vibes ~

PAR STORE - super duper ~vibey~ clothes/accessories/merch store that felt too cool for us HAHA

Mitty - thrift store with a selection of mostly vintage menswear like t-shirts, jackets and pants

K-MONSTAR - for kpop fans !!

Nearest MRT station: Zhongshan or Shuanglian

3️⃣ XIMENDING

Needs no further introduction, but a must-visit for a bustling and exciting vibe, be it day or night 😍

What to get ✅

Clothes, souvenir snacks, blind boxes !!

Shops to check out 🏷️

Jinart西門店 - tw version of popmart with superrr cute blind box toys and at a fraction of those from popmart 🧸 hard to leave the store without buying smth !!

Ruyi Sunny Cake Taipei Kaifeng Store - 10/10 service experience here, they seat you at tables and serve you samples of their best selling snacks accompanied by cups of tea. You can then request for samples of other products or start filling up the order list given, and they will fill the order for you. They will then pack everything nicely for you while you make payment. Fuss-free and stress-free! Highly recommend to get their tieguanyin, honey and cheese taiyangbing and their pineapple cakes !! 🍰

P.s. When we went to tw late last year, there was a weekend makers night market set up right in front of the main Ximending shopping area. Printed cards, crocheted accessories and clothes galore!

⭐ BONUS: ZHONGXIAO DUNHUA

Shopping area filled with small independent boutiques, we had a much better experience here compared to Wufenpu (more of a wholesale vibe, and the designs seemed outdated)

It took awhile for us to get our bearings, so we recommend using D+AF女鞋 敦南門市 as a starting point and wander around from there.

Check out Uniqlo's more affordable sister brand GU Mingyao Store in this area too!

⭐⭐ DOUBLE BONUS: DIHUA OLD STREET

Step back into time at this walking street filled with old-school stores selling dried goods, trinkets, snacks and souvenirs 🏮

All in all, had so much fun checking out these different neighbourhoods !! 😍👌🏼
