🍚 The best Korean restaurant in SG

I’ve finally found my favourite Korean restaurant in Singapore! I’ve already visited 3 times within the last month 🫣

Hyang Yeon Korean Restaurant in Telok Ayer has been my go to for korean food lately. I have to say that the banchan they serve here is def one of the better ones I’ve had in Singapore. There was a wide variety and they have my favourite of all time, stir-fried anchovies!! I hardly see anchovies being served as banchan anymore so if you’re like me and love anchovies, run to this place!! My other favourites are the kimchi and fishcake, they do occasionally swap out the side dishes but it always tastes good.

For mains, I’ve been loving the gamjatang here. It’s pork bone soup and they make it sooo good here, the soup is so flavourful with the right amount of thickness. It’s a really nice hearty dish that really just hits the spot everytime. We ordered the bigger portion to share and they were so generous with the meat! There were probably around 6-7 pieces of pork in there. This portion can probably serve 3 people comfortably, but they also have a singular portion if you want to order other items.

We ordered the fried rice to go with it this time but will probably switch back to normal rice as their fried rice was more of a paella consistency, which ended up tasting a little wet.

I’m already missing the gamjatang even though I just visited last weekend. Trust me, it’s that good. Hyang Yeon also has a branch for kbbq so I’m looking to visit soon!
