🥩 A must-go for meat lovers

Last week, my boyfriend and I headed down to Fat Cow for his birthday celebration. I had visited in 2019 and found the quality of beef to be top tier, which is why I chose to have his birthday dinner here. 🎂

We were looking forward to having some sashimi as a starter, but unfortunately the sushi chef wasn’t around, which was so disappointing! We settled with the Kani Miso Korayaki ($34), which was grilled crab meat with scallop and mushrooms. This was pretty good, the miso was so flavourful and the crab meat very tender.

For mains, we decided on one donburi and one steak for some variety. We ordered the 21 Days Dry-Aged Nagasaki A5 Wagyu Striploin Donburi ($158). It was served with an egg, foie gras and roe. This was probably the most decadent beef bowl I have ever eaten - the combination of the truffle, foie gras and the wagyu was so so rich, perfect for those who have a richer tastebud. My boyfriend enjoyed this more than me, it was a little bit too gelat for me.

We also got the Miyazaki A4 Wagyu ($128), which was actually my favourite dish compared to the don. It felt more palatable for me and it’s highly likely I will be reordering in the future. I loved the flavour of this wagyu, you could still taste the fattiness of the meat. It was perfect paired with some salt and the sauce they gave!

Special mention: not pictured, but their Fat Rice was absolutely divine and paired perfectly with the steak. You have to order if you’re getting the steak!

Fat Cow was also lovely enough to have given us a complimentary dessert for the occasion. It was a matcha panna cotta cake with honeycomb ice cream and it was such a treat for both of us.

I paid a total of $275 for the meal, which was also inclusive of 2 drinks. Overall, the prices are on the steeper side but we both felt it was a pretty incredible meal! It’s perfect for celebrations or if you feel like treating yourself once in a while. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Tip: If you sign up for the TripleOne membership, you can get one for one mains! You’d have to pay for a $20 membership (lasts 6 months), but you’ll be saving at least $100! Our bill dropped by $128, as that was the price of our cheapest main.
