Lately, I’ve been on a major matcha kick. Mostly because it helps keep my cortisol levels lower than regular coffee, but I’ve come to enjoy the taste too! I’ve bee trying out all the healthy matcha spots in NYC - these are my top picks:
Slate Cafe, Nomad - this spot serves up some classic matcha with the option of regular, almond, coconut, and oat milk. I always like to add a little honey to mine as well. This place is best for the overall vibes. The matcha is simple but mixed well. The baristas are friendly, there’s free wifi, and you can camp out for a few hours to get work done.
Matchaful (multiple locations) - this is the best spot for “clean ingredients” since they use their own homemade milk (almond or oat) so there are no seed oils or gums. They always have cool seasonal specials like an autumn spice (similar to a psl). It’s a little pricey at $10 for the specials, but always tastes delicious and so healthy.
Cha Cha Matcha (multiple locations) - a competitor to Matchaful and reliable spot with multiple locations. Lately, I’ve been loving getting a hot matcha with macadamia nut milk. Plus, their pin branding is so cute!
