I used to always kena food coma after every meal.
It was an “expected thing”
But recently after cutting out rice in 2/3 of my meals, and eating half the portions for the last meal, I didn’t even realize it but it has been very long since I last got food coma!
Another side benefit to eating healthier wooo 🤩
So I did some digging, and these are the few tips that helps with prevent food coma too
1) either eat less/ not so heavy meal, or brown rice as it has more fibre and takes the stomach longer to digest compared to white rice which is more “refined”.
I also got a comment from my previous post from someone who chooses brown rice, wholemeal bread and sweet potato(from Donki) as alternatives !
2) I always eat very fast and can eat a lot. Only recently I learnt that it takes time for the stomach to signal the brain that there is enough already so I’ve been practicing eating slower so that I won’t still feel so hungry after my meals. Then tempted to buy ice cream or desserts afterwards hahaha
3) I always thought drinking fruit juice is healthier than water. Yup I was wronggggg
It loses the fiber and stacked with the high sugar, it will spike blood sugar levels and increase appetite, which leads to weight gain…. That’s a no-no HAHAHA
