SG Bacha’s review: $16 for water???

Recently, me and Hubby (well, mostly me) wanted to dine in at Bacha at Bayfront as it has been quite a while since I last had afternoon tea, the last I had afternoon/high tea was back in January. I dressed up for this, as usual just to go for afternoon tea.

Anyways, we felt somewhat scammed because as soon as we were sat, we were asked whether we would like still or sparkling water. Honestly it’s probably our fault for not clarifying but they could’ve told us that they would be charging us for this, which was exactly the case. If you say yes, that’s an expensive $8 water.

We were so oblivious, after we placed the order for afternoon tea set (about $40+ I believe) we decided to ask them to top up the water since they only gave us one cup of water each (up to this point, we still thought it was complimentary) (foolish us)

To our shock when the bill came, we were charged $16 just for two bottles (2 cups each) of still water. I was in shock and dumbfounded because I dragged my husband for this and I felt so bad because now we both have to split this bill! $16 for water!! Come on, we can get two bottles of water for $0.90 at the supermarket??? What the heck. The total bill came out to be about $75, when it could’ve been just $53 without the stupid water.

We ought to be more careful next time when it comes to dining in fine dining cafes. We still feel like we were scammed because they didn’t even tell us we would be charged for just water when we sat down. Probably won’t be heading to Bacha anytime soon after this 😓
