It’s no secret that the Columbus Metro Parks are amazing. But, what might be a secret is that the system is continuously adding and updating the play areas. So, if you haven’t been out to certain Metro Parks in awhile, the playground scene may be brand new to you.

Check out these 7 spaces that have been added or reimagined in the past 5 years and then pack a picnic lunch and plan your next visit!

📍 Blendon Woods - A large play structure complete with tall slides, interactive activities, climbing structures, and spinning features.

📍Sharon Woods - A new play structure that is very similar to the one in Blendon Woods has been located in the Maple Grove Picnic Area.

📍Homestead Metro Park - A new challenge course has been installed where the old gravel pit used to be and new playground equipment complete with climbing structures, small slides, and musical instruments has been installed in the front of the park.

📍Battelle Darby Creek - A new playground installed at the Cedar Ridge Picnic Area

📍Quarry Trails - Climbing structures and a double zip line have been installed at this newest metro park

📍Pickerington Ponds - The Burning Lake Area is the newest part of Pickerington Ponds. While the area is still under construction, the balance course is complete and ready for action!

📍Slate Run Metro Park - Check out the updated playground at the Buzzard’s Roost Picnic Area complete with climbing nets, slides, and swings.
