I’m not the type to go all-in on Disney every year, but when we went, I learned a lot. Here are my must-know tips to make your trip smoother, especially if you’re a first-timer!

1️⃣ **Rent the Mini Van:** Trust me, it’s worth it. You’ll have the flexibility to get around easier without depending on Disney transportation. You will need to budget for park parking costs.

2️⃣ **Animal Kingdom Is a Full Day:** Don’t listen to those posts saying you can do this park in half a day and then hop to another. If it’s your first visit, you’ll want to take your time here. This park closes earlier than others, so relax and do it all, especially if you don’t go to Disney often. Instead of park hopping, make dinner reservations at Disney Springs after!

3️⃣ **Map Out Your Epcot Day:** We went mainly to meet Elsa and ride *Frozen Ever After*, but I wish I planned better. There’s so much to see! (and eat!) Make a list of your must-dos and map out your day to hit the highlights.

4️⃣ **Skip the Character Breakfasts for Picky Eaters:** If your kids are picky eaters, it’s not worth the $45 per person just to meet characters, which you can do for “free” in the parks.

5️⃣ **Costumes Add Magic:** If your little one is willing, definitely bring a costume! My son dressed as a Stormtrooper, and when we visited Star Wars land at Hollywood Studios, he was treated like an actual Stormtrooper. Mando even called him over! It made for a core memory. Just pack the costume and let them change if they’re up for it!

6️⃣ **Don’t Feel Pressure to Meet Every Character:** Focus on the characters that are meaningful to your kids. The lines can be long, but those moments are priceless when it’s their favorite.

7️⃣ **Bring Noise-Reducing Headphones for Fireworks:** If your little one gets scared by loud noises, these are a lifesaver. My toddler was able to enjoy the shows without being startled, and it made a huge difference.

8️⃣ **Buy the Keepsakes YOU Want:** If you’re like us and don’t know when you’ll be back, prioritize buying the keepsakes that are special to you. You’ll regret it if you don’t!

9️⃣ **AirTags for the Kids:** We had a scare once where we thought our daughter was missing, and I did not want to experience anything like that at Disney. We got AirTags and cute Disney bands for the kids. They loved wearing their “magic bands,” and it gave us peace of mind.

LAST but probably the MOST important 👇

🔟 **Purchase Genie+ and Use Lightning Lanes:** Worth every penny! We barely had to wait for anything, which was a lifesaver with little ones, and it helped us maximize our time.
