salary transparency as a graduate student

Graduate school is a huge decision. I think what makes it the hardest is the financial aspect. The reality is choosing to go to graduate school after college typically means choosing to either spend more money on a degree, or living a little less lavishly for a bit.

For me, this was totally worth it, but I am lucky that my specific program has paid positions involved and includes coverage of my course fees. This is not true for all programs, so I understand how truly lucky I am.

Another thing to consider, is that with the position comes the workload, and it definitely is challenging to be a TA and full time student.

At the end of the day I am just so thankful I get to study what I love and not have to go into debt to do so. Education is truly such a gift, and I am so grateful to be getting paid while getting my Phd.
