How to edit + take Northern lights photos ✨

The key to getting good northern lights photos relies on you first being in a decent viewing location and then it’s all up to your camera skills.

You want to make sure you have your camera adjusted to long exposure. You can easily do this on an iPhone in your settings.

Then when you get your shot and the lights are visible in your photo, you will want to edit to bring out the colors a little more. The first thing I do is increase the saturation. This gives you stronger colors and it really makes them pop.

The second thing I like to do is play with the brightness. These photos I lowered the brightness because I wanted the contrast between the dark night sky and the pop of colors in the northern lights.
