The only Peranakan Museum in the world

It is the only museum in the world so far that explores Peranakan culture. The exhibitions spreads across 3 floors, covering the origins, ceramic and food culture, fashion, community life, jewellery, and decorations of the peranakans.

Although the building looks small, there are lots to see in the museum. It is really well curated with gorgeous artefacts, detailed story lines and explanation of how Peranakan culture came about, how it has developed and why it is so unique and important to our region.

✨Personally, I really admire the craftsmanship behind their daily items. Even a handkerchief is embroidered with such detail and attention to the choice of material, colour as well as motif.

I was really looking forward to the shop, but there wasn’t much in there that were unique, affordable and nice enough to purchase home.
