20-30! things I’ve learned as I’m turning 30!

😄 It’s important to be truly happy!

I’m thankful that in my 30, I’m able to say that I’m happy, truly! I woke up in the morning feeling blessed, healthy and loved and if I look back in my 20s, I’m sure happier now and I think that fact itself is an achievement! ❤️

💸 It’s okay to spend the money!

I’m the type of person who is scared to spend unnecessarily, I’m afraid that I spend too much. I’m like this is because I’ve been growing up with so little money. So if possible I would save save save! But lately, I’ve been teaching myself to just spend. Just buy those flight to Japan, invest in those stocks, just buy those clothes that I need, go for that facial, just go to the restaurant that I’ve been wanting to try etc.. tbh, my heart was beating so fast tho when I did it 😂 but I feel so liberated doing it, checking off my bucket list! ✔️

👩🏻‍❤️‍👨🏻 Marrying the right person is important

He is my bestfriend, my partner to do anything, my lover, someone that I can rely on and have jokes together. We have the same morals & religion, we have the same thoughts on how to bring up children. Basically I’m blooming when I’m with him. That’s how I know he is the one and I think marrying the right partner can determine your future. So, choose wisely!

👩🏻‍🍼I don’t have to be that perfect mom

I make many mistakes as a first time mum. Sometimes I set my standards high, I want this and that in a perfect way. Which is not wrong, but when things go sideways, I used to beat myself up. So I learned to not be that perfect mum!

🧘🏻‍♀️Me time as a mom ≠ selfish

I’m learning to take more time for me time. I learned that it’s not selfish, rather, it’s good for the family. Because afterall, happy mum = happy family!!

👜 My career doesn’t define my success

I often categorised myself as the person who is not career minded because I’m just a 9-6 staff. When I’m in my 20s, I keep searching for the thing that I’m passionate with so that I can kind of hustle. I see others thriving, doing business, keep hustling etc..but even until today as I’m turning 30, I still don’t know what my true passion is. BUT I come to a realisation that I actually like this routine of mine. I think I suited more in the 9-6 settings, go home for my family, spending my weekends with my family. That what makes me alive! So I realised that my career never determine my success because I am happy and I feel successful!

👯‍♀️ Quality over quantity

Lastly, now that I’m in my 30, there are people who come and go but there are also people who come to stay. I only have a few true friends and that’s okay 🥰
