This is why I prefer to be a working mum!

I still remember when I said that I wanted to be a SAHM (Stay At Home Mum) if I have a kid, before I was pregnant. The reason was because the baby gonna grow so fast, I want to be the first person to witness every baby’s milestones, I can’t trust other people to take care of my baby, and etc. Which is valid! Those reasons are valid and I understand why. But after my baby was born, I decided that I’m gonna be a working mother instead. Here’s why!

🦾 I’m blessed with a good helper and in laws

I have a helper who I can trust and my in laws who watch over my baby. During my maternity leave, I can see how much they care for my baby, they are taking care of my baby so well, so I learned to trust my baby with them. This process taught me how to trust the people that God brought into my life, and have faith that God is with my baby. I can only do my best, God will do the rest 🙌🏻

💼 I have a supportive boss & colleagues

When I have a baby, I know I need to slow down. I don’t want to be greedy chasing my career. And I’m blessed to have a workplace that feels like my second home 🏡 my boss is the one who bought me a breastpump, she tells me to WFH once a week to spend time with my baby, she gives me lesser work load so I don’t get so stress, and just like a friend, she listens to my motherhood stories. Same goes for my colleagues, because they are so supportive and understanding. So because all of this, I am confident to be a working mum because I know my mental health will be okay 🤎

💵 Double income!

After having a baby, financial stability becomes so important for me. It feels liberating knowing that even if one of us messed up (*touchwood), we still have backup, our baby is still can be taken care of. Also because I earn my own money, I can still buy gifts for my husband 😍

🤌🏻 I don’t like to ask for money

I think if I were to be a SAHM, my husband will make sure that I have money. But I don’t want to be in the situation where I need to ask for money, which issss errrr.. I don’t like! So that’s why I still prefer to werk!

🙅🏻‍♀️ Being a SAHM is harder for me

There’s one period where I tried to stay at home for more than 1day and tbh for me, being a SAHM is more tiring and harder. When I’m at work means I have a time-off with my baby whereas when I’m at home, there’s no break! Salute to all SAHM! 🫡
