Berries are rich in antioxidants therefore a top priority in my diet. I’m actively trying to lose weight and trying to feel full from nutrient dense meals, so a fruit smoothie with added protein is the perfect start.
INGREDIENTS
1 banana
1 cup mixed berries (can be frozen)
1 scoop protein powder
2 dates
3 tbs hemp seeds
agave syrup to taste
½ cup guava juice concentrate or almond milk
½ cup water
INSTRUCTIONS
Add bulkier items like the banana, dates, and mixed berries into the blender. I like using frozen berries when possible because they’re still as nutritious as fresh berries but they make the smoothie chiller faster. The banana adds creaminess and the date is a fun flavor and texture in my opinion.
Smaller items go in next, this includes the hemp seeds, protein powder. This protein powder is vegan and doesn’t have a weird aftertaste, though it is earthy so keep that in mind if you’re not a fan of flavors like matcha.
Lastly, add the liquids of your choice and blend thoroughly.
