Facts About C-Section Newborns

C-section newborns have a few differences from vaginally born babies due to the way they’re born! Here are 3 facts you want to know about c-section newborns:

- They may spit up more the first few days or even months that they’re born and will sometimes have mucus in their spit up. The mucus is fluid they’re trying to clear from birth.

- They may also sound congested for a few weeks again trying to clear all the fluid that didn’t come out of them during birth.

- They’ll sneeze a lot! Again for the same reasons as above but don’t be alarmed if your newborn sneeze multiple times a day or even an hour!

Vaginally born babies can have some of these symptoms too and it may not apply to all c-section newborns. If you feel that something else is wrong, like your baby is having trouble breathing, seek medical attention right away.
