Temporary Baby Proofing Hack

If you need to baby proof a cabinet temporarily then this hack is for you! Let’s say you’re at someone else’s house, an Airbnb, or you haven’t yet bought a more permanent baby proofing solution, this hair tie trick is just what you need!

Take a thick hair tie or double two together and slip them over the cabinet knobs to keep the doors from opening all the way!

You can also tie them around twice to make it even tighter if needed.

I was getting ready in my bathroom and my daughter, who is normally napping when I’m getting ready, happened to be up this time. I haven’t baby proofed the cabinets in my bathroom yet and we have some cleaning supplies under there I don’t obviously want her to get.

I thought to put a hair tie on the cabinet so I could finish drying my hair and she would stay out of the cabinet. It worked like a charm and she was on to the next thing since she couldn’t get in.
