1) talk to each other

As cliche as it sounds, communication literally is key! It’s really easy to keep things bottled up and wait for them to eventually explode; but, this does nothing for anyone. It’s so much easier to just talk about things in the moment and resolve something minor in the present than wait for it to become something major in the future.

2) doing things that are out of my comfort zone

My love language is completely different than

what his is. He loves words of affirmation but, for some reason, it’s really hard for me to give compliments and be intentional with them. Learning to work out of my comfort zone and cater to what he needed from me was a game changer.

3) effort — it is in the unspoken

It’s the little things in life. By just getting him his favorite smoothie or sending him a link to his favorite clothing brand’s new drop, it shows that I care. It doesn’t have to be much; just by acting without being told to was a way that I showed him I listened and thought about him and his happiness often.
