Struggling to get in your protein as a busy person? Here’s some of my go-to items that help me get 135g of protein every day to build muscle (calories and protein)👇

As someone who started working out two years ago, the most important thing I did to get to where I am today was eat more protein. The general rule of thumb is to eat 0.8-1.2g per pound of body weight and, if you’re on a calorie deficit like I am, you should lean towards the higher side. I am currently eating 135g of protein every day and, sometimes, I really dread eating this amount. I’m a picky eater and a lot of foods high in protein, especially snacks, are just not that great. That’s why when I find something that I like, I stick with it — that’s how you know if I really like something. So, if you’re like me, here are some high protein foods I recommend!

(1) Power Crunch Bar red velvet (215 calories & 12g protein)— I hate a majority of the protein bars out there. The texture is off and most of the time they don’t taste like the flavor they’re trying to portray. However, I recently found these power crunch bars and it’s the perfect amount of wafer to chocolate for me. It’s a great way to fix any sweet tooth cravings I have and also get my protein in. I’m planning on trying the strawberry one next so I’ll let you know how that tastes!

(2) Fairlife milk (80 calories & 12g protein)— A lot of protein shakes, like the protein bars, have a very distinct “protein taste” that I am not a fan of. It’s very off-putting in my opinion. But, when my boyfriend put me on to Fairlife milk, my life changed. This is literally milk, just more filtered, so that’s how it’s so high protein. It’s smooth and doesn’t any awful protein taste. I love to use it in my smoothies or even just to drink it as is!

(3) Oikos Greek Yogurt (160 calories & 23g protein)— I love yogurt parfaits. For two months straight, a cup of greek yogurt and a cup of granola was what I ate for breakfast every single day. Normal greek yogurt has a fair amount of protein in it as well, but the Oikos protein yogurt has a better ratio of calories to protein. So, if you eat it almost everyday (like I do), Oikos is a better way to hit your protein goal without going past your calorie limit.

(4) Babybel cheese (50 calories & 5g protein)— I was surprised at the protein to calorie ratio on these. Even though I am, unfortunately lactose intolerant, I don’t even care I just love dairy that much. Cheese is no exception and I’d eat the entire bag if there was nothing stopping me. Funny story, the first time I ate one of these, I ate the red wax wrapper. Anyways, I recommend the Babybel lights!!
