Looking for a cheap bridal cheongsam?

Heard about this place from friends and thought the cheongsams on their instagram were super chio. But I think what really got me was the fact that their cheongsam rentals start from $288 & there is a $100 discount when you confirm within 24 hours of your appointment, WHICH MEANS I could potentially get a cheongsam for $188 which is the CHEAPEST I’ve heard of. Other places seemed to all be at least $300 and up.

Rating /⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐: Overall, I’d give it 3.5 out of 5 ⭐️, and would recommend it to brides who are not too fussed and just looking for a simple cheongsam for their special day…. just don’t expect top notch service.

⚠️DISCLAIMER: I did not sign with them in the end, so these are just my initial thoughts

💭Let’s walk through the process…

📅 They require a $25 dollar refundable deposit when you book your first appointment with them. You bank transfer the $25 and they will refund you within 3 working days (or at least that is what they claim - my refund came in 7 working days after I confirmed that I did not want to proceed with them.

💁‍♀️ When you go to the first appointment (1hr), you will be given your own room and someone will attend to you. For me, the sales person told me last min that she CMI and that a seamstress would attend to me. The seamstress was nice, but her english was limited and it seemed like she did not really know how the dresses were priced. Service wise - it was really quite self service. You go pick out from the rack and then u go behind a curtain and change yourself. Maybe the seamstress will help button you up if you ask.

🤷🏻‍♀️ The quality of the dresses were OK…. nothing great, nothing too shabby

💵 After the appointment, I texted the sales person about the pricing and asked for the price list of the different cheongsams. They said there was NO full catalog online and that I could just send pictures of the dresses I like for them to advise on the prices. NGL i felt that this was a little dodge because when I sent her the pictures of the ones I liked, she said she would make a quotation for them and then DID NOT REPLY for 2 days until I followed up. She also asked for my budget, so I don’t know if the prices are consistent or if they just play around with the prices after seeing your budget…..

💸💸💸ANYWAY as it turns out, the cheongsams I liked were all $468 and above to rent (before discount), which was way above what I had expected. At the end of the day I decided not to sign because I just felt that the service was not great and I did not want to spend more than $300 for something so average….

🤔🤔 THAT SAID, I know they also do custom made dresses for around $600-700, not sure how that works but if you want something custom made, you can also give it a try.
