this month has been a complete month for me.

pro tip: don't move in with people who have absolutely zero life skills

another pro tip: make a emergency fund separate for your pets

we unfortunately had to have our roommates evicted due to them inviting over their drug addict mother. not to sound judgmental, but that was our only solid boundary with them. this is mainly because in our last house, she would steal our things, rearrange the house entirely without our knowledge or permission (and no, it wasn't the roommates side of the house, it was our spaces too) she would leave the lights on all hours of the night even though we had to work the next morning, she was simply someone we did not want to be around and someone we did not want in our house. the entire reason our ex-roommates moved in with us was to get away from her and that part of the family. but then they brought her to them

besides this, they moved out 3 days before april first, which means i did not plan ahead to have to pay an entire $1050, so this completely messed up my planning for the month of april.

on top of all of this mess, our kitten died :(

she was always a little sniffly, our siamese was like that when we first got her, and she quickly got over it. it is very common in shelter cats. however, before the roommates left, they turned the a/c down to 60 degrees and locked all of my cats in the coldest part of the house, which worsened her upper respiratory and sped it up so much faster. she worsened overnight, and i could not get her to an emergency vet. i live in a town very populated by old people, so everything, even emergency vet clinics, close early, and the closest one was an hour away.

i made her a vet appointment as soon as possible, but unfortunately she passed away right in front of me on the scale. they tried to resuscitate her, but if they did, she would've been left with brain damage

minus how saddening this is, it is unfortunately expensive to get a private cremation done for me to get her ashes back. i, of course, did pay, but it did end up maxing my credit card.

it is honestly not the biggest deal to me, but it is definitely expensive. grief is expensive. death is expensive.

besides the losses, things are looking slightly up.

we are having a close friend move in with us this weekend, which will bring me, my boyfriend, and our new roommate's rent to $700 a person. a lot more manageable than $1050 between just my boyfriend and i.

will these next couple weeks be a struggle?

yes.

am i stressed about it?

yes.

but that's why i'm planning more than a week ahead of time, to hopefully take some stress off my shoulders.

i think it's really important to be transparent when it comes to financial difficulties and struggles, as they can happen to anyone anytime, especially in this day and age.

and god knows i'm working an extreme amount of hours these next couple of works to hopefully dig myself out of the trenches a little bit faster lol
