High Risk Pregnancy- Real Talk

Reflecting on my journey, I had a high-risk pregnancy that tested my strength in ways I never imagined. At 15 weeks, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure and soon after, an ultrasound revealed a folded placenta, a rare complication that added to the uncertainty and fear.

I had to be closely monitored every step of the way. I had to see a high-risk doctor and take blood pressure medication and baby aspirin. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t worried because I was BUT I knew God gave me my baby for a reason.

Constant monitoring became my new reality and It was an emotional rollercoaster. I began to make lifestyle changes which did help me! I begin to eat better and exercise a lot more.

By 36 weeks, I unfortunately faced preeclampsia and was told I would have to get induced at 37 weeks. I’m grateful that the preeclampsia didn’t come until the end of my pregnancy considering I had high blood pressure early on.

But through it all, I stayed strong for the life growing inside me and my partner and family helped every step of the way. Pregnancy is hard and even through the complications, I still had an amazing pregnancy. I’m blessed it wasn’t worse. I’m grateful every day for the precious gift that came from it all & I’m grateful that we stayed healthy. ❤️
