Trying out Marugame Udon: Ratings + Sunday OOTD

I’m a sucker for Japanese cuisine, so I had to try out Marugame Udon in UP Town Center as there’s always a long line whenever I pass by the store. Of course, being the curious foodie that I am, I had to try out the restaurant as well.

When you go in the restaurant, there’s a buffet bar where you can get their alacarte menus like tonkatsu, ebiten, tamago, musubis, onigiris and more Japanese food. Before proceeding to the buffet bar, there’s a small station where you tell the chefs your order and they make it in real time in front of you!

Their menu is mainly composed of udon and rice bowls. We tried out the Gyudon and Curry Udon and I must say that we made the right choice. The Curry Udon surprisingly has enough flavor and isn't as overwhelming as I thought it would be. From the alacarte menu, we tried out the ebiten, tonkatsu and tempura sweet potato. I felt like the tonkatsu could be cooked more while the ebiten is just the usual tempura. There’s nothing that special about those two. However, their tempura sweet potato was just the bombb. I haven’t tried anything like it before so it was definitely a first for me.

As I visited there on a sunday, I came from the church prior so I wore a maxi dress topped with an oversized polo.
