I know this may sound odd, but if you’re a freelancer or creative, or basically a job that allows you to work anywhere, you might wanna consider working at a cafe in JB. Yes you heard me right! Because not only are the prices lower, they also tend to be relatively empty, plus sometimes you’d just want a change in environment.

*Before i reveal my list of cafes, go ahead and save/share this post for future reference!*

☕️ OFFEE

Pros: Near to customs, easy to walk to, wifi and plugs

Cons: Overpriced food

Number one on my list would have to be OFFEE located just a 10mins walk from the customs. Not only do they have wifi and plugs, the place was also empty when I visited on a weekday afternoon. There are also different sitting corners - some a great for a relaxing reading session, while others are good to just working in silo. Food wise i tried the grilled cheese sandwich which was nice but overpriced.

📍 Address: 30, Jalan Dhoby, Bandar Johor Bahru, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia

⏰ Opens 8-12am

☕️ :Space Cafe

Pros: many plugs, wifi, good food and drinks

Cons: seats are hard for long hours, can get noisy

One of my favourite cafes in JB (read this post for a full breakdown of the cafe), the place is equipped with many plugs and even has a bench for singles trying to do some work. The drinks and pastries are also pretty yums! But one downside is that it can get quite crowded and noisy in the afternoon so do bring ur earphones!

📍: G-11, Holiday Villa, 260, Jalan Dato Sulaiman, Taman Abad, 80250 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia

⏰: 8-12am

☕️ Seven Oaks Bakery Cafe (Pelangi)

Pros: very insta worthy space, with sofa seats. Wifi and plugs available

Cons: wifi was kinda choppy while plugs were limited. Food was pricey and forgettable. Also place is only accessible by car.

Before you head over, there are two outlets and the one im recommending is the Pelangi one. Nice space, two floors with alfresco seats, but id prefer to sit on the main floor. Very chic looking cafe, but the food was kinda meh. Didn’t get to try the mains as a lot of things were sold out despite being there on an afternoon.

📍: 134, Jalan Serampang, Taman Pelangi, 80400 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia

⏰: 1030am-10pm
