Hello readers of lemon8 π
Just wanna recap the most influential books to me and hope this can persuade you to read too π€.
Gurllll, they got me thinking like when Oppenheimer was in his existential crisis moment π§βπ«.
1) Against The Loveless World
istg you will cry reading thisβΌοΈthe way Abulhawa weaved the tragic story of a Palestinian woman with beautiful language rlly got me π₯Ή. you will loathe isnotreal fr so baddd π€¬. based on the true story so guess what? real painful experience π. follow @/susanabulhawa at ig btw!
2) Freedom is A Constant Struggle
this one give lit me up π₯. now I know the importance of well-organized mass movement. guess what? it was mainly organized by women because the oppressed will always recognized the others in oppression. the book explained the right way of feminism should be fighting for so ofc i'm all in πͺ
3) The Plague
no joke this is one is hella depressing β οΈ . the way it narrates on the plague coincidently fits the covid-19 pandemic. somehow it wasn't the virus Camus is trying to deliver because he realized there are far more evils in this world rather than pointing the plague itself. after reading this, it got me having existential crisis as be thinking what's the meaning of life after all π΅βπ«.
4) Letters from Birmingham Jail
i love the sassyness of martin luther king jr in replying the letters to those racists π . i ended up laughing all the time because he nailed it gurlll. perioddd.
5) North Woods
i regret of not in the right mind for reading this book. i got my consciousness when i read other people's review. i was blind all this time π. the significant of North Wood is trying to tell me that human & nature always be linking to each other π. its beautiful languages narrated while spreading thr message of be responsible towards natureβΌοΈ
love love them so much π. despite of not getting 5 stars, but the impact is mothering π ( it's giving me a new perspective). i hope 2024 will be making me more critical in reviewing & learn new things too!
