Here are my suggestions for places to go In addition to some of the main attractions you should see like the a White House, ol Abe and the Washington Monument!
I love going to a states Union Station! The architecture is so beautiful and we typically rent cars there or sometimes just visit and get lunch. This one is beautiful.
Museums: top choices are the Holocaust museum (omg this was emotional and really well done) and the portrait gallery. I was soooo impressed with the portrait gallery even though I’m not the biggest art connoisseur.
Coffee: any blue bottle location! They know how to make a good cup of coffee.
The Salt Line: my favorite place in DC. The outdoor patio on a spring/summer night… I can’t think of anyplace better in DC. Great vibe, lively, good food, heaters and comfortable seats, tvs and huge bar outside. Right across the street from the Nationals stadium!
Cafe Riggs: we went for a after lunch coffee just to enjoy the architecture and being transported back in time. Timeless!
American Morris Bar: legit craft cocktails! I told mixologist what I wanted and got the most beautiful tasty drink. Welcoming friendly vibe and cool aesthetic inside!
The Smith: mac and cheese and a cheeseburger ✅
Side door pizza: I heard this place had great Detroit style pizza and I went in with minimal excitement and left drooling even though I was so satisfied and full. I dream of this pizza on a weekly basis.
Also if you can make it for a couple hours into Georgetown it’s worth a visit 💕
