5 things I wish i knew before getting a puppy

Ttbt getting a puppy was an extremely impulsive decision that I acted on.

Do I regret my decision? No

Did i face a-lot of consequences because of my decision? 🙂 yes

1️⃣ Life changes 180 degrees 🫣

It isnt an exaggeration when people say that your life will literally turn upside down. Having a pet puppy, brought out my literal maternity instincts. Especially being a new pet owner, almost anything and everything that isn’t familiar can worry you

2️⃣ Visit a vet immediately after purchasing / adopting your pet and do a basic check up! 🙏🏼

Theres so many vaccines and medications at the beginning and as you are experimenting and tryna figure out your best vet experience, its better to keep an excel sheet to track the medications/vaccine if they are from different veterinary clinics. The columns that is missing from the screenshot of my excel is “ Issued Vet Clinic” and “Next Appt Date”. It really helps me track his medications!

3️⃣ Separation Anxiety can happen to hoomans instead of pets we well 😅

Proper training is so so important and I believe its more so for us hoomans than the pets 😜

4️⃣ So many places in SG aren’t actually pet friendly 🫠

This is probably a rather controversial opinion but I feel like the only places i can bring my puppy is to the park, HV mall, pet friendly cafe or beach / dog friendly pools. Lmk if im missing out on any other exciting places! Recently stumbled upon this app call “Pawfect” and omg its been an absolute life saver! They have so many recommendations of dog friendly cafes near you. I absolutely LOVE IT. So its a must have.

5️⃣ Pet Lovers Centre gives free you free “Puppy Bonus” pack to dogs below the age of 1, aka puppies!

I had no idea and this was such an amazing freebie 🥰 It was such a seamless process. Love it and appreciate it so much.

In hindsight , theres so much more I can write about but in conclusion, Im so grateful for the amount of love and joy my puppy brings into my life despite the big hole he burns in my pocket ☺️
