Trip to canyon lake!

Last weekend I took my family to the lake before my eldest daughter started school on Monday. we left super early in the morning to drive from Houston to canyon lake which was about a 3 hour drive! We made it to overlook park, parking was a nightmare since the park we go to is very limited parking and thankfully after circling the parking lot like a shark 🦈 our friends and I were able to find perfect parking spots. Now was time for the hike down to the water, I didn’t get a good picture but there was a 10 minute very steep walk to get to where the water was and my friend and I carried our babies while we climbed down with our 5 year olds by our sides. It was going okay until we got to a 5 ft drop we had to somehow get the kids and babies down safely and thankfully there was a kind man to help the kids down and then took the babies from us as well so we could climb down! The water was beautiful and amazing and so worth the hike but honestly will probably never do that again with a 7 month old and 10 month old 😂 don’t even get me started on the way back up that was even harder I thought I might pass out! Once we were down there we ate sandwichs I packed and drank water my friend had packed and played with the kids and jumped off a few cliffs into the water. We even had made some friends there and they moved their canopy so the little ones could enjoy some shade! Halfway through the day though the wing caught their canopy and pushed the whole thing off a cliff! 😭 we felt so bad and the one girl we met named Ellie her keys were clipped to the side but where it had fallen is about 80ft deep so no one was able to swim down to get them, not even the boat police could help. She ended up getting help from family for a lock smith to get into her car! Then we decided to head home and nearly died climbing back up to the parking lol (jk) But we finally made it back up after our long day of swimming and fishing and I wouldn’t have traded that day for anything! #swimming #lakeday #lakelifewithfamily #kidssummeradventures #toddlerswhohike #hikewithtoddlers ##canyonlake Canyon Lake
