I’m sure you’ve heard or read these terms while looking at photography, but what do they really mean?

✨Editorial✨

In simple terms, editorial means “posed”. The photographer is intentional when storytelling. EVERYTHING is intentional and has purpose from the location, outfits, props, and poses. The photographer has the most control of the photoshoot and the resulting images.

Vs

🪴Documentary🪴

Storytelling by capturing the raw, candid, unfiltered moments of real life. The photoshoot is less “staged” and allows for authentic, spontaneous moments. Simply, the photographer is on the side-lines capturing you can your loved one interacting naturally.

They both have their pros and cons, but ultimately it comes down to the preference and personalities of the couple.

Me, I’m an editorial photographer but with a documentary flair✨. All my photoshoots are intentional, but I want to make sure that my couples look and feel natural in every photo.
